Congratulations to our 2021-22 Coach of the Year, Celia Newman!

Celia “Cece” Newman is a proud native of Dyersburg, TN, getting her start in athletics as a high school standout with the 2005 State Runner-Up Dyersburg Lady Trojans. She continued her outstanding career as a student-athlete at Bethel University.
Taking from her own experiences as a student-athlete, Celia is passionate about helping other student athletes succeed in both athletics and life. She got her start as a Student Athlete Development Mentor at University of Memphis for at-risk student athletes, and soon after founded Elite Level Prep in April 2015.

Celia has mentored and assisted over 100 athletes, creating a huge impact on Memphis youth. She also started the first all-girls basketball league “Junior She Got Game” under Junior Grizzlies in Memphis. With leagues in Memphis, Nashville, Houston, Cincinnati, and Little Rock, Celia has given women the platform to continue to play basketball at a high level and inspire girls in athletics. Celia has plans to expand Junior She Got Game in these markets, so every girl has the opportunity to pursue their dreams. She has continued to be a pioneer for student-athletes and women’s sports through her leadership and advocacy.

Congrats Celia!
